Stuff More Food in Your face and Shop Online
Driving home Wednesday night from last-minute Thanksgiving shopping, you might see people camped out at a Best Buy, patiently waiting to be first in line for that 8K television. “Lol, what,” you might say. You also notice they have a grill out and a fridge. “That’s ludicrous, ” the friend you invited for the holidays says. And indeed that friend is right. It’s ludicrous because no one should have to wait outside for Black Friday sales when you can easily them find online.
I used to enjoy waiting in line for the one time of the year deals. Standing out in the cold was one of those weird activities that sound dumb, and is dumb, but worth it if you pick up something for a sweet deal.
But now, those same deals are online. Christmas shopping has become an introvert’s dream. You don’t have to wade through waves of people to get that one gift for your mom or dad. Stick those earphones in and jam out to your favorite tunes as you shop endlessly on Amazon or elsewhere for gifts.
Most deals go live at 12 am on Black Friday. You’ll most likely stay up that late anyways from chugging pots of coffee to stay awake through your relative’s neverending stories.
Seriously, there’s no need for you to even leave the dinner table. You could even ask everyone at the dinner table what they want. It’d probably be a better conversation starter than how your school or work is going.
We’re all staring down on our phones anyway, so why not make use of the time while you’re at it. Find that perfect gift for the person sitting next to you to show you love them. Heck, you could even start now while you’re at work or class. It’s not like you’re totally focused as it is.
BestBuy, Walmart, Target, Macy’s, and B&H Photo are some of the numerous places offering sales Thanksgiving week. And Amazon? They’re deals paradise! Just be sure you don’t get cared away and run your bank dry. To get started, here’s a great deal list from Cnet.
So, will you brave the cold front and wait in line? If you do, kudos to you. But, what if you don’t want to go and just hang out with your family because it’s warmer and there’s free food? See, it’s cool that you could score an awesome deal on a TV or two, but it’s 2019. You don’t have to freeze outside to do so.
