Use an essential oil diffuser

Essential oils are used for several things, including aromatherapy. Certain oils can evoke positive feelings. Using an essential oil diffuser can help bring a light and positive feel and smell to your apartment. Lavender is known to calm and increase positivity, but other oils do as well. There are tester kits online so you can sample different oils to see what you like best. You can figure out which scents remind you most of spring and use that. Essential oils can also help with mental health, so if you are struggling with anxiety or depression with the end of the semester, you can diffuse an essential oil that helps relieve those symptoms.

Lighten your colors

During the winter months, you may use dark-colored or neutral-colored décor in your living space. However, spring is a time of beautiful colors such as pinks, yellows, and blues that can help lighten your house or apartment. This change can help you be more positive as the weather shifts and nature begins to bloom again. Even if you have to stay indoors to study and do homework, lightening your colors will help you bring a hint of spring indoors to help you stay positive.

Embrace floral

Nothing says “spring” quite like flowers. Most flowers blossom in the springtime, so they are an obvious way to add a bit of spring to your house or apartment. Whether you opt for a bouquet, a wreath, or just décor items with floral patterns such as pillows or throws, you can add flowers in several ways. If you want a bouquet but are allergic to flowers, you can opt for artificial flowers, which will last you from year to year. You can even make a wreath using a combination of artificial flowers, ribbons, and other things that remind you of spring.

Open your windows

During the winter months, you have to keep your windows closed, especially if it gets bitter cold where you live. This often causes the air within your house or apartment to become stale. When spring comes, you can open your windows to let in the fresh air and to air out your place. The fresh air can motivate you to stay strong for the rest of the semester, even if you are stuck indoors to study. It can also make you happy, knowing that the weather is finally nice and that you are almost done the semester. You will be able to take a nice deep breath of fresh air, which can be relieving in itself.

Clean your house or apartment

Spring cleaning” is a popular thing for a reason. Spring is a time of renewal and freshening things up, and what better way to do that than to clean? Cleaning can bring about a fresh feeling in your living space and can help everything feel nice and new. Open your windows to let in the spring air and use spring-smelling products to bring even more spring into your home.

If you decide to go through your things and get rid of things you no longer want or need, you can donate them. Also, go through your closet and try on spring clothes from previous years. If something does not fit or you do not like it anymore, get rid of it and buy something new. Decluttering can help you get into the spring spirit and lift your mood to feel free.

Get your patio or balcony ready for use

There is nothing like sitting outside, enjoying the spring weather and relaxing after a long day of studying, classes, work, and student organizations. While you may have a lot of homework and studying to do, use sitting outside as a reward. After you finish a task or assignment, reward yourself by sitting outside for 20 minutes. If possible, you can even take your textbook outside to study as long as you will not get distracted.

In order to make the most of your patio or balcony, make sure you have furniture that you can sit in. Also, add some décor such as string lights or chair pillows to help add a spring look to your outdoor space. Make sure you have a table so that you can study outdoors with your laptop if your WiFi reaches outdoors or if you have a textbook reading to do.

Spring is a time of renewal and freshness, but it can be tough to get into the spring spirit if you are stuck at your house or apartment, studying for upcoming finals. Adding even just a small hint of spring to your apartment or house can help your push through spring fever and finish your semester strong.
