Pros: Funny man and knowledgable in his field. Both are evident in his lectures.
Cons: I had trouble understanding him, which led to bad grades. You'd think the GSI would be helpful, but mine spoke even less English than Professor Kwak.

Pros: None
Cons: Professor is impossible to understand (accent), the class is huge, the exams are impossible and all memorization, you have to come to lecture because of random quizzes to check attendance.

He is a very poor communicator because his accent is so thick. It is hard to stay focused in class because it is so hard to understand him. Reading the book, though, will get you the information you need to stay on cue. Discussions are essential to your grade. The one paper is a huge determinant. Pop quizzes happen in lecture and are graded, plus add to attendance.

This class definitely takes a good amount of effort to do well. A lot of studying is necessary if you want to get a good grade in the class. Overall, he is a very funny instructor; as long as you have an interesting and knowledgeable GSI, the class can be much more enjoyable.
