PwC US Introduces Free, Interactive CareerAdvisor Tool
Last week, PwC US launched a free, interactive tool called CareerAdvisor. The customizable tool is meant to help students figure out their interests and career goals as they get ready to enter the job market, according to a UWire press release.
CareerAdvisor is meant to support students of all majors and interests and its goal is to arm the next generation of leaders with what they’ll require to best write their resumes, prepare for interviews, create an online presence, and effectively start their careers. The CareerAdvisor tool is accessible online and can also be accessed on mobile devices.
“Good grades, extracurricular activities, and a strong resume alone won’t guarantee that you will find yourself in the career of your dreams,” said PwC’s US and Global Talent Leader Michael Fenlon. “CareerAdvisor helps job seekers discover who they are, what they want to do and how to get there.”
CareerAdvisor is made up of four sections and each one includes various activities, articles, videos, advice, and tools, to give students an edge in the job market. Users can modify these resources to design their own personal experience to help them meet their career planning objectives and stand out from the competition.
“Whether it’s accounting, engineering, teaching, science or health professions, or management consulting,CareerAdvisor acts as a motivational tool for students to reflect on their passions and take control of their future,” Fenlon said.
The four sections of CareerAdvisor include:
1. Assess – Recognize your individual strengths and interests to choose a career path that’s the best fit for you.
2. Maximize – Use the resources you have to make educated choices that can help give you access to new opportunities.
3. Prepare – Create a job search toolkit that will exhibit your distinctive talents and the benefits you would bring to a potential employer.
4. Present – Understand how you can build your personal brand, communicate with confidence and develop relationships so you’re seen as unique.
“The foundation of leadership lies within self-discovery,” said Rod Adams, PwC’s US Recruiting Leader. “PwC is dedicated to helping build leaders at all levels by helping them realize the career and life success they aspire to achieve, and CareerAdvisor is another way in which we are fulfilling this mission.”
